As a sixteen year old I remember being a huge Doug 'Pineapple' Saladino fan, seeing him grow older in Skateboarder, culminating in his '78 interview alongside his Impala Lowrider drove home how cool the whole Mexican/Chicano feel for things is. Everybody was getting into the punk thing and he was already fully into his own roots and culture . . . stayed with me ever since and gave me a new perspective on Messers Marin and Chong as well, not to mention one of my all time fave tunes. Totally love your blog and the neverending stream of beautiful rides and gorgeous women . . . keep em comin, thanks a bunch from the land downunder.
